About
My name is Rina. I draw Irish landscapes in ink and wash.
Not the postcard version. The version with grief in it. Old stone, stripped trees, fields that remember something you cannot name. I make work for people who carry Ireland with them at a distance and feel it in a particular kind of weather or light.
I work traditionally. Nib and ink on toned paper, wash for atmosphere, ink for structure and commitment. The irreversibility of ink suits the subject.
Alongside the finished work I keep sketchbooks. They are where I study other artists, work out problems, write, and find out what I actually think. Not performance. Just the necessary mess that finished work comes from. I share these on TikTok to inspire others to also keep sketchbooks and experience the world from an artist's point of view.

This is a long project. I am building a body of work one piece at a time. Subscribe to learn more about upcoming print drops.
